Know Clay Siegall

Clay is the co-founder of Seattle Genetics, Inc. that was founded in 1997. He has been the CEO since November 2002 and the president since June 200. He was the executive vice president from December 1997 to June 2000 and CSO from December 1997 to November 2002. Clay served in many other roles in his career. Some of them are Senior Research Investigator, Interim Chairman, Director, Chairman, Principal Scientist, and other positions. He impressed in all these posts.

Siegall’s role in the cancer research community

For nearly 20 years, Clay gained vast knowledge and experience in therapeutic drug development and cancer research. Clay served on the editorial board of three scientific journals. He is also on the board of scientific counselors for the Cancer Treatment Research Foundation.

Clay siegall approved the addition of more drugs and workers to the Seattle Genetics. This is part of its ambitious plan. Under the leadership of clay, the company is planning to broaden the applications of their drugs. Through his leadership, Seattle Genetics established themselves as core of cancer research.

Seattle Genetics is attempting to examine Adcetris their popular drug in more than 70 cancer treatment situations. This is according to CEO Clay Siegall. This will be achieved by experimenting it versus different lymphomas. Clay also maintained the ambitious plan of adding more drugs and more employees.

The company is using a more improved clinical examination. Tests show that the drug will provide therapy for earlier untreated or recently diagnosed lymphomas.


Clay received the Pierce Award in 1995; it was honoring his achievements in the area of targeted toxins. He was in the final list of Ernst & Young Pacific Northwest Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2002 in the healthcare category. He has a Ph.D. in Genetics from George Washington University and a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Maryland. These recognitions are proof of the great accomplishments that Clay has.
